This was a letter to the editor in the Sun Journal in June 2009:

I would like to thank Collette Monuments and especially Bruce Collette for the work that they have done for us recently.  On the Tuesday before Mother's Day it was discovered that someone had vandalized my daughter's gravestone.

I spoke to Bruce, and he immediately sent someone up to take pictures of the damage.  I called my insurance company on Tuesday, and they asked for Bruce to fax a quote to them.  He did it that day.  On Thursday I received, in the mail, a copy of the quote and also a check from my insurance company.

I called Bruce Collette on Friday to tell him I had the check and said how I wished I had seen the damage earlier so we could have had a new stone put in for Mother's Day, but I knew that would be impossible since it was already Friday before Mother's Day, and it usually takes about six weeks to get a stone finished.

I paid Collette Monuments Friday and was driving by on Saturday Morning at 8:45am., and to my surprise a Collette Monuments truck was parked in front of my daughter's stone.  I drove in, and they had already put in the new stone and were loading the damaged one onto their truck.

I cannot thank Bruce and Collette Monuments enough for getting that new stone in for Mother's Day for me and the whole family.  You guys are worth a million.  You have given me the best Mother's Day gift ever.  I just wanted to say thank-you for all the hard work you did to get this all done in a matter of four days from the first phone call to the finished product and installation.

You have gone above and beyond the call of duty.  I just wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart and recommend that if anyone has to buy a gravestone for a loved one, I would highly recommend  Collette Monuments to do the job.  they stand behind their work.  Even though this was not their fault, they still came through for this family.

I want to thank all of you for the great monument.  It is beautiful.  I will recommend you to everyone I know.  At a sad time like this it was so nice to have your help and expertise to create a beautiful monument in memory of my husband.

The Monument is  beautiful-you did a fine job.

When I cam across it in the cemetery the day before the burial, I was taken aback. "That's it!" I exclaimed to my husband.  Tears that I had not felt so close to the surface welled up unexpectedly; there is something about actually seeing the tombstone in place... and in such a sweet little cemetery, that evokes such an emotional reaction So, thanks again I am very pleased.
